Shipping to Australia & Free Delivery
We offer flat rate $9.95AUD shipping using Australia Post Express Delivery service to all addresses within Australia.
Express Delivery is free for orders over $99AUD to Australia. Some exceptions apply — please see 'Large, fragile and bulk items' below.
All orders are dispatched in 1-2 business days.
Christmas delivery times
Please place orders for Christmas gifts as early as possible. Below are Australia Post's suggested order cut-off dates for pre-Christmas delivery.
We ship orders right up until Christmas Eve (or last business/postal day prior to Dec 25th). All domestic orders are sent Express Post. More information on Express Post delivery postcodes here.
Items sent after these dates may not arrive until after the Christmas period.
Christmas delivery deadlines 2023:
Perth & regional WA — Order by 1pm December 21.
Interstate — QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, SA, ACT: Order by 1pm December 20. NT: Order by 1pm December 19.
International (Express) — Order by 1pm December 12.
International Standard (Air) — Order by November 27.
International shipment dates vary depending on destination and the chosen delivery service. For a full list of all countries search by country here to find Australia Post's recommended lodgement dates.
It is always free to Pick Up from our Fremantle store and we are open everyday except December 25 and 26. Orders are ready within the hour during our opening times.
Please note overseas deliveries may be affected by factors that are beyond our control such as customs delays, network and overseas postal disruptions.
Large, fragile & bulk items
Some large items and bulk orders are charged shipping at cost price, and free shipping does not apply. Free delivery does not apply to orders over 5kg in total weight, or certain oversized, fragile and/or heavy items. If free shipping does not apply to an item, it will say on the item's product page and at the checkout. All items are eligible for free in store pickup.
Orders over 5kg, or oversized, fragile or heavy orders ship with Sendle, and cost is calculated at checkout. Cost depends on the size and weight of the package, as well as the destination postcode. We charge cost price for delivery with Sendle. Any questions please get in touch with us.
Some large items, liquids and items with batteries are unable to be shipped overseas, sorry. Contact us for more information.
Delivery times & coverage
All orders are dispatched in 1-2 business days.
Express Post delivery includes two business day delivery (sometimes even faster) within the Australia Express Post delivery network and fastest possible delivery for other areas.
The national two business day delivery network operates between Australian capital city CBDs (excluding Darwin) and some major centres. Orders sent to Western Australian addresses will arrive in 1-2 business days, if not the next day.
Australia Post Express mail has delivery confirmation and tracking included and does not require a signature for delivery.
Sometimes deliveries can take slightly longer to remote areas and can also depend on Australia Post's workload. Delivery times can slow down at peak periods such as just before Christmas and times of high network demand.

Tracking your order
You can track the progress of your order from the My Orders page, online at the Australia Post website or using the link in your Order Confirmation email. Enter your unique item tracking number into the Track tool to see where it is during the delivery process.
We encourage you to track your deliveries with the AusPost app.
Please note: Tracking events are limited for rural and remote areas.
In store pick up (Click & Collect)
At checkout you will also have the option of electing to pick up from our store in Fremantle. Items will be held for 14 days, after that we will cancel your order.
It is free to pick up. Present your order confirmation in store to collect your purchase.

Our Free Shipping does not apply to international orders. International orders are sent using Australia Post International Standard Delivery. The price depends on the size, weight and destination country and is calculated at checkout. All international orders are sent with Signature on Delivery, and this is included in the cost quoted at checkout.
The buyer is responsible for all duties/taxes on orders incurred at the destination country. We will not refund for deliveries not delivered as result of unpaid duties at the destination country.

Greeting card postage
If you wish, we can handwrite your message in a card, handwrite the address on the envelope and post it directly to your recipient.
Postage cost for up to 3 standard greeting cards (card only or card + Gift Certificate only) to a single postal address in Australia is AU$1.20.
If you wish to post a greeting card along with any other item/s (excluding Gift Certificates and eGift Cards) shipping costs apply.
Please place seperate orders with seperate shipping addresses and messages. One order per recipient/delivery address.
Australia Post Greeting Card delivery times:
- To Western Australia: 2 to 4 business days.
- Interstate: 3 to 4 business days.
Returns & Exchanges
We offer easy returns. If you change your mind (it happens to the best of us), or wish to return an unwanted gift, we would love to help you exchange or refund your purchase if returned within 30 days of delivery. To begin a return please visit My Orders & Start a Return page.
Return shipping isn't covered. For convenience we can provide you with a flat rate prepaid return label at a cost of AU$9.95.

Refunds will only be sent to the original purchaser's method of payment.
All items must be returned in original, unused condition with all packaging and tags still in place. This includes all dust bags, labels and product boxes.
Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
If you elect to return your items to us yourself, we recommend using a service that offers tracking, such as registered post, for peace of mind that your order arrives safely back to us. If we don’t receive it, we can’t give you your money back.
Things that can't be returned:
- Promotional codes are not eligible for refund.
- 'Large, fragile and bulk items' aren't able to be returned online.
- Except where the goods were damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied, only the item will be refunded, not initial postage.
- Sale items cannot be exchanged or refunded.
- Gift Certificates and eGift cards are non-returnable.
- If the product is ruined or used the product can not be returned.
Start a Return
To start a return, visit My Orders & Start a Return page prior to shipping any returns back to us. No returns will be accepted without our prior approval. Once logged in, select the order and the item/s you wish to return, and select a reason for return. Please note we may require images of damaged goods or packaging to initiate a replacement or refund.
Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method.

Return shipping on international orders is the responsibility of the purchaser for full refund on price of goods. To avoid any customs charges please clearly mark international returns packages 'RETURNED GOODS'.
Any charges incurred are the responsibility of the customer. Compendium Design Store is not responsible for any return customs charges incurred. If a package is unclaimed you might have to pay a handling fee.
Exchanges are processed as a return for a refund, and a new order. Complete the purchase of alternative products either online or in store.
We are always happy to exchange an item if the product and packaging is in an 'as new' condition within 30 days of the date of delivery. Exchanges should be made by placing a new order and returning the original order. This method helps ensure you get what you're after as quickly as possible, rather than waiting for it to reach us and potentially selling out in the meantime.
The customer is responsible for the return postage cost on exchanges. For convenience, we offer a prepaid return shipping label (in Australia only) at a flat rate of $9.95AUD. Please note that the return postage cost will be deducted from your refund.
Except where the goods were damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied only the item will be refunded, not initial postage.
When returning your item(s) we recommend that you purchase a registered post option, Express Post and/or insurance so that if your package goes missing you can track it down.
If the customer is exchanging products, shipping fees will apply to the exchanged item(s) and discount codes cannot be exchanged.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again after a few days. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us.
Incorrect and damaged deliveries
Please inspect your order when you receive it and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. If it was a gift and more than 30 days have passed please get in touch with us. In the unlikely event you received an incorrect or faulty item, you're eligible for a return or exchange.
We will cover the cost of postage for new items (or refund original postage cost if you ordered online). Please contact us on email@example.com before sending your order back so that we can approve the return and issue you with a prepaid shipping label so that you won't need to pay for your return shipping.
We work hard to ensure that all of our products are represented accurately online, checked thoroughly before dispatch, and that all goods are packaged securely for transit. If an item(s) arrives broken, please take photographs of the damaged item(s) and its packaging to provide to us to substantiate your claim.
If it is no longer possible to replace the product we will provide a full refund or your choice of equivalent product value or alternative colour/size/style etc. If a suitable replacement is unavailable, we will refund your purchase price in full.
Depending on the nature of the damage, we may opt to retrieve the affected item from you, at our expense, so please do not dispose of it until your replacement claim is approved and completed.
Some of our items are handcrafted and made from natural materials. For these items, listed measurements and colours are a guide only and small variations in colour, form and finish are normal. Such variations are an intrinsic part of handcrafted products and/or natural materials, and are not considered ‘faults’, ‘defects’ or ‘damage'.
Faulty items & warranty claims
Faulty items will only be accepted if the goods are delivered to you damaged or there is a subsequent manufacturing fault identified within a period of 2 months after delivery.
Many of our brands offer their own warranties, for example the Bellroy 3 year warranty. Please contact us to make a manufacturer's warranty claim. Please do not return the item(s) to the manufacturer.
All items returned as faulty will be inspected and any items deemed to be subject to wear and tear subsequent to receipt by the buyer will not be accepted as faulty.

Payment & dispatch
All orders are dispatched following the successful processing of your bank and billing address details. This process ensures your safety and ours against Credit Card fraud.
If delays occur we will contact you immediately. We will send you an email immediately notifying you that your order has been shipped. Upon shipment you will be emailed an Order Tracking Number.
We accept Credit Card, Paypal, Apple Pay, Zip and AfterPay.
Payment is collected from your account upon immediate receipt of your order from our web store. If using a Credit Card to pay, all credit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer.
If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to COMPENDIUM STORE, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
We take all reasonable care to make our site as secure as we can make it. To help ensure that your shopping experience is safe, simple and secure we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
Furthermore, we will take all reasonable care, in so far as it is in our power to do so, to keep the details of your order and payment secure, but in the absence of negligence on our part we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from the Site.

We do our best to make sure all items on the website are in-stock, if they’re unavailable for purchase it means we’ve sold out. Keep an eye on the site as new products and colours are being added all the time. We can notify you when an item comes back in stock by filling out the form on the item(s) page.
We will notify you upon processing of your order if there will be any delays. We are under no obligation to supply the products ordered unless we have the products in stock and they are available at the prices specified.
